Caring for the Caregivers

During this trying time in our world, many organizations have stepped up to show their support to those on the front lines of the Corona Virus.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) and American Nurses Foundation partnered with Hilton and American Express to provide free rooms for up to 7 consecutive nights at Hilton hotels across the U.S. as “One Million Thank You’s” to nurses. The offer runs April 13 through May 31. You must be an ANA member to qualify for this benefit. Stat Staff full-time benefit-eligible employees are able to receive reimbursement for a membership under the Professional Development reimbursement program. Contact your recruiter today for more information. For more details about the ANA program, visit https://www.nursingworld.org/my-account/one-million-rooms/

Marriott International, with the support of American Express and JPMorgan Chase, has committed to providing $10 million worth of hotel stays for healthcare professionals leading the fight against COVID-19 in the U.S. The initiative, called Rooms for Responders, will provide free rooms in some of the areas most impacted including New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C. and Newark, N.J. To implement this initiative, they have collaborated with the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Nurses Association to match doctors and nurses with free accommodations at participating hotels.

In a separate effort for frontline healthcare workers, Marriott joined with a number of their hotel owners and franchisee partners to launch the Community Caregiver Program. This initiative provides significantly discounted rates for first responders and healthcare professionals who want to book rooms at hotels in close proximity to the hospitals where they’re working. The rate is available on Marriott.com at nearly 2,500 hotels. For more information and details, visit https://news.marriott.com/news/2020/04/08/an-update-from-our-ceo

It is heartwarming and inspiring to see these organizations collaborate to support our frontline heroes in this generous way. Our nation has proved once again to be united and strong in the face of turmoil. “Where there is unity, there is always victory.” – Publilius Syrus.
